As a boy, Erwin's teacher father theorized that the royal government erased the population's memories, a heresy that led to his father's murder by the Interior Police. Driven by a desire to prove his father right, Erwin pioneered the Long-Distance Enemy Scouting Formation, drastically reducing Scout expedition casualties.
